I received the edge guide in a kit with the palm router. I am having the same issues that the other reviewers have had here and everywhere else I checked. The square portion of the bolt meant to ride in the track to adjust the distance from the edge is too tall and will not allow the bolt to be tightened enough. Its basically a piece of garbage as is. I will look into new hardware to get it to work but should I have to with something that is supposed to work?
I bought the PR0002 edge guide as part of the PR20EVSNK kit. The router worked beautifully the first time I used it with the angle base, but it's not doing well with the straight (normal base and edge guide. I've tried locking the guide in place several times, but haven't been able to begin the first cut. The guide fell off twice before I noticed the lock washer was behind the guide, rather than the knob that attaches it to the router. Moving the lock washer out resolved that problem, but when I started the router, the guide slipped on the rail and the bit was ½" off from where it needed to be. I've tried twice since, tightening the wing nut as hard as I could. The guide felt firm until I turned on the router and it slipped again. I think the square protrusion under the head of the carriage bolt is too thick and won't let the head itself pull down the guide to the bar. I'm going to look for a thin washer with a hole big enough to go around the protrusion and see if that improves things. It appears the other comment on this guide referred to the exact same problem, so it's probably something that needs attention.
