Eye protection required for any hammer drill operation!!! Hearing plugs too. Save your eyes and ears!

This little drill is great for anything 1/2 inch and smaller diameter in concrete and best for holes less than 3" deep. In other words, if you are setting a ton of 5/8 diameter anchors in holes 8 inches deep in aged concrete with hard aggregate, this is NOT the tool and will not hold up. But for smaller tapcons and other similar style anchors in the under 20 per day class, it works great. I do not use hammer dills for regular drilling and do not use them for torquing my anchors down tight, for that I use a regular framing hammer and a ratcheting wrench or best yet, epoxy anchor cement. Remember to take the time to clean those holes out real good before setting the anchor and it will hold it's rated load easily.

Hitachi has been in the hammer drill and larger more powerful rotary hammer drill business for at least 30 years. They make good products and sell them below the price of the US and EU based tool companies. They are all made in China at this price point, BTW. Metabo is now Hitachi owned so lower priced Metabo tools will be made in China too!

Anyway. it's all about the design engineering, materials of construction and tightness of manufacturing specs, not who assembled it.
