Good Grinder
A battery powered grinder seems to be the last frontier for battery powered tools.
This grinder replaced an earlier Milwaukee V-28 (28 Volt) battery grinder which was a big dissapointment. The V-28 tool had good power but a VERY limited run time (we're talking 3 - 4 minutes here) on a battery charge.
The new M-18 Fuel Grinder is easily three or four times as good.
I use this for heavy metal grinding in sitations where a corded tool is less convenient. The M-18 Fuel grinder has just as much power as an 8 amp corded grinder and the run time on one battery charge is about 10 - 12 minutes.
Heavy metal grinding takes a lot of power and seems to be the most demanding job for a battery powered tool. While saws, drills and etc. battery tools seem to run for ever, grinding metal really taxes the battery system. The new M-18 Fuel grinder is at the head of the class in this category. It is a very well made tool and the ergonomics, including the paddle switch, are as good as they come.

Lots of power....great for quick jobs
Used for general fabrication. Fabbing a preunner front bumper and used it with a cut off wheel and flapper wheel to cut/trim the frame horns. Battery life not quite what I was hoping for, BUT this tool has a lot of power and I tried to bog it down but it kept going. Actually cut and ground down both frame horns on one 4.0 battery.
This is ideal for those quick jobs where dealing with a cord is a pain.

Cordless convenience with corded power
Very nice little grinder feels good in the hands. It seems to have the same power as my corded 4 1/2 inch grinder. The XC 4.0 battery last a long time.

asome tool
I use it in my personal shop I did floor pans in my car with it. I really like that it never ripped out of my hands like the corded ones try to do. I have also use it to sharpen mower blades and out in the yard to cut fencing

Huge time saver
The new M18 FUEL&trade 4-1/2" / 5" Paddle Grinder (2780) saves time looking for a outlet to plug in a extension cord, just pick it up, and do the job.

Been using this for the past month+, zip wheels to cut metal, cut bolts off, even cut 1/4" off the bottom of a hollow metal door in place (hanging), and it never quite working, except for changing the battery.

Use a sanding flap wheel to grind down bolts, sand paint off, sand and smooth Bondo on metal doors and frames.

One of the great additions to my tool bag for going totally cord-less.

Brilliant piece of equipment
I was tasked with removing 40 bolted down Diner stools, I initial used a Milwaukee impact driver to remove the nuts, we then had to grind down to ground level the remaking embedded bolts,
What a perfect tool to do the task, job done in 30 minutes, no lugging around with 110v transformer, no looking for a power point to plug into.
This tool was just perfect for the job, Milwaukee M18 Fuel tools are excellent and fantastically convenient to use.
