Works Great
I used to have a 28 inch MTD but I had to buy something small due to the fact I bought a larger truck and had no room for the old blower. I was shocked on how much snow can be scooped up by this new blower until I realized the the size of the impellers. On a side note use new gas. With the old MTD I could get away leaving the previous year's gas in the tank (with stabilizer). I tried this on the Ariens and It was a no go. One nice thing I noticed during my troubleshooting was how energetic the ignition system was. I pulled the spark plug out and it was soaked with old gas but it still sparked. Drained old gas then put in new and fired up with no problem.

A great product for the price and size . love this machine
This is a great machine, I needed a small unit so it would fit in my garage beside the car and I'd be able to get it without moving my car. This was the smallest 2 stage unit I could find and it was a perfect size. While doesn't have any bells and whistles it was an excellent price and has been clearing snow for me for 9years without any complaint. Ours has only 1 forward and no reverse but it's light enough to pull if needed and manoeuvrable enough to get around easily. Due to the smaller size it takes a bit longer to clear our large driveway . I use it to do 3 houses sidewalks and drives and it can handle that plus the ice left by the snow plows at the end of the driveway. We moved here from Toronto 7 years ago and we get 4 times the snow that we used to but this has hung in there and done a wonderful job . I may upgrade to a 24" model as we have a larger garage now and it will definitely be an Ariens snowblower.

I bought the compact 20" as my first snow blower for my small business. I wanted something compacted enough to fit between cars and have enough muscle to get me in and out of my sites in no time. This snow blower did better then I expected! Last week the had over two feet of snow and I went through it like a hot knife in butter. When the time comes to purchase a second blower, I'll definitely be picking up the same model again.

Great machine! Compact and powerful.
I purchased this model to clear my driveway during the Northeast winters. I wanted a two-stage snow blower because they provide the power needed for all depths of snowfall. This model was attractive because it is a two-stage and is compact. The Compact 20 model allows me to store it on the side of my small garage and still fit my car inside. Even though it is smaller than some of the larger Ariens models, it does not give up power to be smaller. The first time I used it, the driveway was buried in 14 -16 inches of heavy wet snow. This snow blower was able to take care of the job with no problems. I believe this machine will serve any homeowner well as long as they know how to operate it properly and are able to provide routine maintenance.

Well done machine in a rare combination
A two stage machine in a 20 inch width is hard to find. However since compactness was of paramount importance for my tight lot this was the machine of choice. While small it has not let me down. Into my second winter and unit has proven easy to maneuver in tight spots and able to handle all types of snow. Not over priming ( follow the instructions in other words) has been the key to easy starting. The unit tended to ride up a bit on snow but I installed the optional weight bar on the front and that has essentially solved the issue. Overall an easy to handle performer.

I new the 20" Compact was the perfect blower for me. I wanted a small 2-stage so it could fit
in my garage. This 20" may be small in width but it loaded with features that you find in larger
units. Just used in 6 to 8" of wet snow and it was a tank.

5 seasons & still running strong.
I've been using my snow thrower for several seasons. Pros: It starts on the 1st pull every time, It throws snow far, all I've done is change the oil. Cons: If I scape all the way to the pavement I have trouble hitting ridges on the side walk.
I have a large driveway and can only throw snow one direction due to the house and garage blocking the other side. This blower has no issue throwing the snow far enough to get the snow off the end. In 1st or 2nd gear this unit will walk right through the snow left by the plows at the bottom of the drive.
I have a large circle drive way in the front and a long side drive way, plus I also clean my Dad's house & now my Son's house. After all this useage the blower still runs strong. Best part no rubber paddles to change (twice / season) like on my previous snow blowers.
