Much better than a cloth tool bag
I love the option of securing and stacking all my tools in sturdy plastic boxes (container) instead of cloth tool bags with a zipper. Many times I will select a tool that I am about to purchase based on whether or not it comes in a sturdy container as opposed to the zipper type bag. I recently helped a neighbor work on his boat trailer that just came out of the water and put the cloth zippered bag on the ground. When I went back to pick up the tool bag, the bottom was soaking wet. That evening I ordered the LBoxx from Bosch. My tools were not damaged, but who wants a wet bag to carry around. I am now able to to carry my Drill/driver and impact driver in the same box by adding the foam insert and I love it.

Great tool box, I love how it helps me organize my tools.
I started to purchase the tool box about 1 month ago. I didn't know which on to purchase first so I bought the one with 3 draws and a #1 box. Then I purchased a #3 bow with a #2 box. Soon I'll have all my tools organized and together.

Great System
As a production carpenter, organization is key. These allow me to have what I need at hand while minimizing trips to the truck.

LBOXX rocks
I am a commercial contractor. These boxes are well done. I have Festool systainers and a bunch of Dewalt boxes of various types. The systainers are faster stacking & easier opening (you can open one of the lower boxes without removing the uppers if there is not too much stuff in the uppers), but systainers are super expensive and not meant for a rough environment. The LBoxx's are a nice compromise in modular portabilty, durability, price and organizational storage. The LBoxx is kind of water resistant, more than once they road in the back of an open truck or were left outside during a rain storm (they were empty)and when opened, they were dry. I have sat on them during lunch, and at 200+lbs I'm not tiny but they are not nearly as robust as the Dewalt tuf boxes.I would not recommend standing on them. The LBoxx also has more usable interior space than the Dewalts and Systainers.

One down side is the LBoxx 1 is too small in interior space to fit most 18-20 volt cordless drills/drivers with the batteries attached. If you have the old style 14v-18v Dewalt tools with flared battery butts the LBoxx lid will not close. If you take off the batteries of the new 20volt drill/drivers the lid closes. The LBoxx 2 lid will close with 20v Dewalts with batteries attached. When they give interior dimensions of these boxes you need to subtract a little for the encroachment of the interior box molding of the LBoxx handle in the back side of the lid. There isn't much info on the interior shape/size of these boxes and what will fit inside (which is why I'm not giving them 5 stars). I'm sure Bosch only cares if their stuff fits, but I'm using it for several other companies tools (because their tools might be good but their boxes aren't)The best scenario is to go someplace which has some, and bring the tools you plan to store along, and play with arranging them till you figure out a good fit, and then make your own partition inserts. When in doubt go bigger.

Love These!
Love these L-Boxx's for organizing all my power tools and the accessories that go with them. Like that I can click-stack them all together and transport multiples together. My only complete is that the insert foam is expensive and the tool-specific inserts can't be purchased separately/individually.

Bosch 6"Stackable Storage Case
This is my second stackable purchase for my 4 1/2 " electric grinder. I tried the 4.5 stackable unit but it was to small and I needed to return it. The grinder fits well enough in the larger case with room for extra wheels. My only issue is there no base padding in the case to prevent any tools sliding around. I feel that the extra cost of purchasing a foam insert is very costly. The box itself is priced above other brands that I will not mention. I do like that all of the cases have the click & lock to attach them together.

Will this fit the Bosch roofing nailer with the foam inserts?

BEST ANSWER: No, you need the 15" deep one . You lose about 2 " to 2 1/2" of the overall depth due to the handle recess in the top. Example, L-BOXX2 6 has about 4" inside depth.

New Vs. Reconditioned

What's the difference between New and Factory-Reconditioned?

Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.
  • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
  • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
  • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee; New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 120 days.
