Dead after less than a year and three uses
I bought a DEWalt Hedge Tripp - after all DeWalt is the best right? Maybe for tools, but apparently not so for batteries. This product died after three trimmings of a small hedge. Charger indicates battery is bad and won't charge it anymore.
Now the dilemma; do I spend the ridiculous amount of money it takes to replace this batter, or throw away a perfectly good hedge trimmer? Hmmmm.... Seems like a different hedge trimmer with a battery that will last is the more cost effective option.

Useless Lithium battery.
This DeWalt 40V lithium battery is useless. I only used my blower 4 times. The battery died after a month of non-use. Tried charging but it does not go past first green light. So yeah batter is defective.

Works Great!
I bought a blower ad this battery came with it. I seen on here where people have had bad luck with the battery. I have bought several DeWalt items and I have yet to have any issues with any Battery. I use my blower every time I mow my yard and the charge last for about 20 min. One thing people fail to do is keep the battery fully charged when not in use. I have a charging station where I leave my batteries in chargers all the time. Any battery you let go dead for any extended amount of time will kill any battery if left uncharged for long periods of time. I recommend that during the winter you charge the battery once a month or just leave on charger. I have batteries that are 3 and 4 years old and have had no issues with leaving on charger.

Battery is defective
I love the tools like the blower my battery goes to, however I have 3 batteries for it, all of which will not charge. What are the odds that 3 batteries and 2 chargers would be defective you say? Going back to gas powered...I have $750 wrapped up in these 3 batteries...I could have bought gas for a gas blower for 25 years.

Lousy battery, questionable week cutter
Purchased a DeWalt weed cutter in 2017 and used it 4-5 times. Battery is dead this year and would not recharge. A truly horrible product (the battery at least that I wouldn't recommend to anyone. The weed cutter did not always let out cutting string when procedure performed as directed.

Defective battery
Came with one of the 40v tools I own. Dated 2016. Call DeWalt service center and told them it would not charge. Took it up to the service center and they filled out a warranty sheet. Did not have one in stock. Had to drop ship one to me.

Just got it, charged it up and it works in the tools it's made for. So I guess it does what it's supposed to do.
