Table Widener for 1400 EQ router - baseplate is extra thick which is useful when used in conjunction with a guide rail. The long end ends up under the handle so maybe they intended to operate while reaching across piece. I've been using it with the router between the piece and myself and I'm right handed so the dial and depth stops are facing me. The standard base is a shortened base on the piece side with this orientation. This base very useful for the way I'm using it.
Only con and the reason for only 3 stars is the chip catcher is held in place with magnets, a bad design. The magnets are loose and sit under the 3 flanges on its metal bracket and keep the chip catcher is place. It gets disconnected easily and is frustrating to line up the magnets and put the chip catcher back into the base plate. I used Gorilla Glue and glued the two metal rings together and the bracket into the base plate. Now it's a lot easier to use. Also just a replacement chip catcher for this base plate is not available. BTW, having a chip catcher is great, most of the chips get sucked into the vacuum.
