Generac Smart Switch transfer switches are designed for use with single phase generators that utilized the unique Evolution Controller. Housed in an aluminum NEMA/UL listed Type 3R enclosure, each Smart Switch is heavy-duty and designed for years of extended service when needed. The controller at the Smart Switch's connected generator handles all the timing, sensing, exercising functions and transfer commands, so there is no need to worry about manually activating maintenance tasks or voltage commands.

i have a light plant that i am trying to be a automatic back up power source for a 20 amp 120 volt circuit
that will control a traffic signal will this unit work and do i need anything else thanks scott

BEST ANSWER: Yes, the transfer will work with that system. But, some sort of generator will have to be connected to the series for there to be power. This switch is just converting the power from the generator to your 20amp service
