The product is new to me. I am skeptical about battery life. Otherwise, all is good!

Amazing chainsaw!
I have 4 chainsaws; 2 gas, 1 corded electric and now 1 battery electric. This new Greenworks 80 volt chainsaw is by far, the best of all four. I've spent two hours cutting trees downed by the four nor'easters we had in March. The battery still reads 2 thirds power remaining.

Get if for the RIGHT reasons.
Perfect pick-it-up-and-use-it chain saw. I would have preferred one of the smaller models but wanted to match battery voltage with my other tools. If I have to do a lot of felling, trimming, and bucking then I'll break out the 2-stroke, gas/oil unit.
I've only used the cordless unit a very few times but it performs quite well. The bucking spikes grab well and allow moderate leverage to go right through the wood. The chain cut big chips right out of the box. The chain oiler is automatic.
Push a button, squeeze a release, and squeeze the trigger and you're cutting.
I made a dozen cuts through a 14-in trunk on a single charge.

I purchased this saw primarily to do yard clean-up after storms. I have a large gas powered chain saw that I've used for many years for heavy duty tree bucking but this is a good choice for limbing trees and sawing them up after their removal. This is a very easy saw to use and very convenient with the push button start. I'm impressed with both the battery life and the recharging time. I really like the placing of the chain adjustment screw. It makes tensioning a very simple matter, very convenient. The oil level window on the side of the saw is a very nice feature. It's easy to see how much oil you have left without having to remove the cap.

It does the job!
It did everything I needed it to do, without the hassle of a 2 cycle machine!

Perfect Cordless Chain Saw
I am a 65 soon to be 66 yr old woman that needs to cut her own firewood. I got tendinitis in my elbow last winter I’m starting a gas operated chainsaw. Greenworks cordless is a god send. Im so happy with this saw. It’s long lasting plus I’ve purchased an extra battery. I am able to use this chain saw with ease of starting and easy maintaining it.

Love it!
After years of using a gas powered chainsaw, I can only say I love this one. No more gas. No more smell. No more mixing in 2 cycle oil (or trying to remember if I did. And especially, no more pulling that dumb starter cord every time I pick up the saw.

OK, depending on how heavily you use it, the charge on the battery will run out faster than a tank of gas, so just keep a couple of extra batteries charged up and at the ready. Remember, you'll never have to buy gas again and CPO sells reconditioned batteries at a reasonable price.

Nothing is perfect. I would love it to have a no-tool chain adjustment like what they have on their smaller saws, but they do have the tool tucked into the handle, so it's almost perfect.

Time saving product.
I live on 22 wooded acres in the country. We have trees that die and have to be removed and other trees that need occasional pruning. This Greenworks
chain saw is a marvelous tool. I do not need to mix and carry gasoline nor do I have to worry about any accidental fires. This is a great product.

Great saw, with limitations
I like this saw & imagine it's as capable as an equivalent $300 gas model. Seems well made & feels good. Like most saws, it's designed for a right-hander but is fine for a lefty. The one complaint I have is that it has only limited work time if you really push it. They claim it will do "150+ cuts through a 4x4", which I believe to be true. However, I was only able to get about 13 minutes worth of cutting through think ~12" logs. You then needed to let the battery cool before you could recharge. Assuming the ~30 minute claimed work time, I figured this saw w/ a single battery would be great for all but the most rare of my requirements. If you're really going to use this saw for big stuff, you'll need a 2nd, or perhaps 3rd battery, which means you'll pay a stiff premium not to have to contend with gas.
