I bought this battery as a back up to the existing battery. Very happy.

Don't charge these with a low power inverter.
This batter replaced the 5 year old one I trashed trying to charge it with a small inverter while driving to a work site. Both my mower, chain saw, and pole saw run on these. They work really well, and hold up over time too as long as they are properly charged.

Avid Do-it-Yourselfer
Great Performer
I've got (3) of these batteries that came with tool kits and have been using them for the past 3 months.

Very impressed with how long they last, even in the most taxing of my tools I currently have ... the 24322 blower/vac on high speed ... it lasts long enough to get all my blowing done (30 minutes or so) on one battery and usually with some life left. Since I have 3, it would not really matter if I had to change out midway through, but it is real nice that I don't have to.

In my 21" MO40L01 Push Mower, I was able to do 2/3 of my 15,000 sq-ft. yard (about 40 min) on one charge ... swapped out to a 2nd battery and had a half charge left when finished with the other 5000 ft. area.

The heart of all my tools keeps ticking along!
Over the years I've bought several greenworks tools. So far the lawnmower, string trimmer and blower have all been just wonderful. Each came with a battery, so I have a ready backup no matter with tool I use. Now I'm waiting for other older tools to die so I can upgrade to greenworks!

Battery doesn't last
Bought this battery less than 2 years ago-of course I threw away the receipt! At it's newest, it never held a charge for more than an hour, if that. Now, lucky if I can get 15 minutes at full charge! Just had to buy another since I can't afford to buy another whole lawnmower right now! Next time, I'm getting a gas mower!

A great addition to my chainsaw!
As I get older, it becomes harder and harder to start a gasoline-powered chain saw. So I bought a Greenworks Model 20312 40V chainsaw kit in July of this year and I love it! The saw is light, starts at the push of a button, is vey quiet, and is very efficient. However, when the battery is exhausted after about an hour of cutting, it takes 1.5 hours to recharge it. So I bought a back-up battery 2 weeks ago. Great move - it saved my neck. A rock maple (14 inch diameter at the base) had fallen across the narrow trail in my back woods. The saw cut this very hard tree well into smaller pieces until the battery died. My back-up battery allowed me to cut my way free. The alternative would have been to back up my Polaris Ranger 500 feet - a pain in the neck!

Are all Greenworks 40V devices compatible with each available 40V battery and with each 40V charger
Lloyd on Jun 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I own a G-Max 40v chainsaw, grass cutter (weed eater), blower, and
hedge trimmer, and they are all powered by the same G-Max 40v battery.
I bought a green works 40v g-max l-ion blower/vac, machine works great, but seems the battery only least around 20-30 mins. Is this a battery issue or is this typical fitter the machines?
Kevin O on Nov 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It seems the batteries don't last as long as advertised. I get about the same running time as you are getting.
The last battery I bought was for back up, just to make sure I have enough batteries to get the job done. I have a lawn mower and snow blower so I depend on my batteries all year long.
I have a blower. It has a 20 watt battery which has not lasted that long. Can I use a 40 w max? Will it give me moe power and last longer. I put my 20 w on the charger over night and it blue wa about 4 min. and dies.

BEST ANSWER: I have the 40v blower/vac as of yesterday. I could only do 1/4 of my yard on 1 battery. They are 29472_146Wh and 29462_73Wh. I got half of the front yard blown, now I sit around and charge again??? I'm very disappointed! I can mow the front and back yard with one charge. The blower just sucks! No pun intended.
How many bolts are each battery in the 40volt battery?
smitty on Aug 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There are 20 18650 cells inside this battery pack, wired in four groups to create 40 volts.
There no "bolts" but the pack is held together by six torque screws.
Will this item work with the Craftsman electric mower model#138.98818? Sears has discontinued the mower and most of the accessories and I have been trying to find a replacement battery.

BEST ANSWER: Greenworks is not interchangeable with other brands
"I had purchased your Model 24102 40-volt Lithium-Ion cordless blower. Will I be able to use the Greenworks 40V 4 Ah Li-Ion Battery 29462 & 29472
batteries with this blower. If not please suggest which model i should go for Thank you."
deep on Apr 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, model 24102 is a standard 40V blower, and the batteries you listed are part of the G-Max series. The standard 40V is not compatible with the 40V G-Max batteries

New Vs. Reconditioned

What's the difference between New and Factory-Reconditioned?

Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.
  • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
  • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
  • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee; New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 120 days.
