Great, but...
I bought this one as a replacement for two of an earlier model, CG22EAS(SLP), which is great, except that the location of the spark plug has my fore arm all burned. This one, is as good as them two, but, the Cutting Head is made of a soft rubber, and it deteriorates easily, it wears out, and, comes loose, even with the contact of just grass! The spark plug is well covered with a Teflon lid, great!

Great timmer with a flimsy safety
I love the trimmer it is awesome. I read a reviewer who broke the gas lever I assume it was the safety on top so I taped mine down to the handle with rescue tape so it can't break off and now just have the gas lever to squeeze.

Where’s the string?
I’m happy with this tool with one significant exception. The trimmer string does not feed from the original equipment hub/spool. I have to pull the hub apart and advance it manually. This should not be! In all other respects, the machine works great. It starts easily, is lightweight, negligible vibration and good power. I purchased a Husqvarna hub/spool and it feeds as it should. However, I should not have had to do so.

Cuts good but shield not great.
Trimmer seemed to cut good, but no matter how I used it the shield failed to stop a lot of the clippings, etc. from coming at you.

HITACHI QUALITY!
I bought this Hitachi weed trimmer because I have a Hitachi blower that is about 4 years old. Both are very easy to start are very dependable and have a lots of power. I have only had this trimmer for a few weeks but it seems to be another winner!........ WARNING: you have to keep it tamed, because it shows no mercy on any flowers or scrubs it comes in contact with.

Too heavy
Gear assembly started on fire first time I used it. No local service for repairs. Very difficult dealing with customer service. Currently waiting for s box to be delivered so I can ship it to Georgia for repairs. What a nightmare!

Love Hitachi tools. they offer value and quality combined in one package..
Been a fan of their products for decades. I own their cordless tools as well as trimmers.
Will continue to use and buy their products..
I will not give them starts as there's always room for improvement on anything
I will advice them to invest in developing better user friendly technology
