Easy Start and runs good every time
I moved into a new home with 41 live oak trees that needed to be cut down. I did not want to hire a "Profession" to do the job. I purchased a Husky recon saw 435e and man does it do the job. I can say this now after 41 trees, but I used the same chain the saw came with. I sharpened after 1-2 trees. The secret to operating the Husky saw is this.... .
1. Pump the primer bulb 8 -10 times. when cold
2. Choke it.- pull up and out on the red choke lever
3. Pull 2-3 times and you will hear start sputter.
4. Release choke to off position and pull one time and it will start.
5.LET THE SAW WARM UP! at the initial fast idle speed (it's really ok)
6.Don't be afraid to let the saw run hard and idle. Put some time on it. (2 strokes engines work best at high rpm.
7.This is a really good product and will last you a long long time.
8. Lastly, use good fuel and please keep chain bar oil full at all times.

Great homeowner saw
Paid about $200 ,best investment I've made so far.At first it was hard to start.A spark plug change and a switch to non ethanol fuel, runs great. Two not six pumps on primer bulb ,choke, start and run.Very good handling for me.I have both an 18 bar and a 16 bar.Great Power, good for firewood cutting as well as general cleanup around the property.Bought the carrying case, extra files and spare spark plug.Love this little saw, every bit as good as the competition, maybe better.

Best chainsaw I have ever owned!
Hello everyone. First, a little background information. I am a woodturner and use a chainsaw on a regular basis. I use it to fell trees and process my turning blanks. I make both crosscut and ripping cuts when processing my bowl blanks.

I had a Poulan Pro 4218 chainsaw that was a piece of junk from the very start. That saw would idle and run just fine until I started cutting timber with it. Once I began cutting timber, it would lose all power and die like it was out of fuel. I attempted to adjust the carburator to no avail. That saw just refused to cut timber.

On my birthday, my Mom and Dad saw the trouble I was having with the Poulan Pro, so they went out and purchased me a Husqvarna 440e with an 18" bar. From what I understand, this is now a discontinued saw. Why? I do not know. Because this is the best chainsaw I have ever owned and operated. It is light, easy to start, does not use much fuel, and cuts wood like an angry little beaver on steroids! This saw is amazing! I have cut soft wood and hard wood with it and have not come across anything it will not handle yet. It handles crosscut and rip cuts in hardwoods like a champ.

If I had any complaints about this saw, I would say it takes quite a long time to warm up. Other than that, I do not have any complaints whatsoever.

The saw worked great and I was satisfied . The only problem I had with it was the chain was bent and kept coming off once I purchased a new chain the saw ran and cut prefect .

No customer service on weekends?
I don't own one, but was seriously considering the 440 E-series. But having no customer support on weekends, when most customers this product is marketed for will be using, was a deal breaker.

Won't Start...
Period. I wish I had read the reviews before buying this product. I would have avoided making the purchase. It can't be asking too much for the chain saw just to start. It isn't hard to start - it just won't start. I meticulously followed the starting instructions. I've been at it for over three hours today and nothing. Yes I will go find a dealer tomorrow. More wasted time. I bought it last year and used it once. It was hard to start then. Now it won't.
