This is the best impact by far and I have several other fuel models, so smooth! Been electrician for 10+ years and have used them all

Great when warm.
I haven’t had a chance to use this impact a lot yet. But from what little time I have used it, it has been pretty good. I love the low noise level, especially while driving screws into metal studs! I had some issues with it bogging down/clutching out in cold weather. I assume this was due to the hydrolics not holding up to the cold temperatures. If anyone else has noticed this, please post on it. I am looking forward to using it frequently and putting it thru the ringer.

Definitely quieter and smoother operating
Typical high quality Milwaukee tool, definitely runs much smoother and quieter than previous models but can't tell if if it's that much more powerful yet, maybe in time it will be more obvious. Overall length is shorter than previous models making it easier to get into tight places.

Great tool. Even better bargain with the hammer drill included. Amazing power. Only down side is it's very very heavy. And that's without a battery attached. But I could probably drop this off a roof and it will be perfectly ok. Heavy tool but even more heavy duty build

What's the difference between the M18 fuel and M18 fuel surge?
A shopper on Apr 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The surge is the hydraulic version. Its much quieter and runs cooler. If you have to run a lot of screws regularly its worth the upgrade. It does great running big timber lock screws along with repeatedly having to run cement board screws when putting down cement board for tile jobs. It just keeps going, is easy on the ears and the batteries end up lasting quite a while.
