Did I get the lathe I hoped for?
I will admit I was surprised and happy to see this lathe at the reduced cost.
The Pros: Easy to use, especially if you stay on the same belt speed. Plenty of power for the bowls and pens that I use it for. I like the idea that the extension is available and east to install.

The Cons: Being an open box purchase I expected some issues. The centers did not line up, but they cover how to correct this in the manual (if your look for it carefully). Scratched paint and rust, this I did not expect, but, I figure I would scratch it myself. The adapter for the chuck was missing, but customer service took care of that. I do find the head of the lathe to get in the way when I am doing some fine turning, but, I find ways around the issue.

All in all, I really like this lathe and would gladly recommend it to a friend.
