Well Built and we'll thought out design
I use this planner for just about every thing possible. Building things in the shop, to fixing things in the house and for others. I even HAD one at work, WHEN I was working. The one at work was really put through its paces and that's why I bought one for myself at home when I retired. I like the good wide and heavy shoe. The option to pitch dust either way I need to, helps me on certain projects. Especially if I am in a tight spot that I need to get rid of dust a certain way. This Planner was built by a doer, not a pencil pusher. My only fault is, put more metal back in our tools. Or if your going to use plastic, use a heavier high grade material that will hold up. We are spending or hard earned Money to buy your product and pay YOUR CHECK NOW, we need a tool that will last us. We are human to, we may knock a tool off the bench on accident. And the thin Cass cracks, we are out a tool that we paid hard earned money for. SO THINK OF THE WORKING MAN THAT PAYING YOUR CHECK. We need a tool to last.

If you read this, Thank you and God Bless America.

Great Planer
I bought this to square up a 12' long 9x12" black walnut beam that I used for a fireplace mantle. It worked great, and could take off material in thick passes without bogging down. Adjustments are simple and I like the long cord. My only complaint is that the chip/dust ports tended to clog up under heavy use but it was easy to clean out and continue work.

Great Performance and One Suggestion
I have been using this planer for a couple of months. Performance and cutting precision are terrific. Dust pickup is amazingly good. Suggestion: add a second guide fence that is adjustable. Inverting and clamping the planer in place would produce a field joiner.

Good Power
I bought the PL2632K Planer to use building some furniture out of some rough quarter-sawn white oak. It seems to work well and have plenty of power but I am very disappointed with the hardness of the aluminum shoe. After just a few passes on clean wood (no staples, nails, etc. the shoe is very scratched and etched. I do not know how this will effect operations in the future but I would have thought the shoe would have been much harder.
