Works, but is flimsy
Well, the insert was on sale so I bought it instead of making one. I see why it's on sale. It could have been made sturdier easily, but that would have cost about 29 cents more worth of plastic. Some things made in China are getting better, but not this! It does work, but small pieces could be cut wrong due to the flex of the part.

Do not know how I managed w/o one
This a a very safe feature to have. It is worth its weight in gold. If you cut thin strips of wood like 1/8" this is a must have. It can prevent serious injury by preventing the thin wood from getting down below the blade and then getting kick out at 50 mph.. You do not want to get hit with that!!! Great investment!!!

Perfect
works perfectly for narrow thin cuts. Should have been included with saw. Used saw for two months before braking down and ordering it. Could not find it locally so ordered it for CPO. Had it in 3 days. Great service.

Pretty nice piece
I wish this piece was built a little more sturdy. After cutting slot it becomes a little flimsy causing issues with adjustment.

Surprisingly poorly made
I have had this for a few months and while it works, it is surprisingly "low end" for Bosch. It is made from a soft plastic and is always warped when in place or off the saw. It isn't possible to straighten it to the table properly and there is no way around this. The table saw is hands down the best there is in this category and I'm very surprised that Bosch would release an add on that is so far from professional.

Made of plastic
There is deflection. Hard to level. Need to unscrew 4 screws every time you want to change out. Also, when raising the blade to cut the slot, go fast. If you go slow, it melts the plastic.

Doesn't work as it should
As others have said, the device is warped when installed, and mine came without the screws. I also have an issue getting it level so when wood is pushed through with a pushing device it hangs on the back of the table where it meets the zero clearance device making it unsafe. This is even with it balanced with the table. I think because it will flex with any force you put on it. So when pushing the wood through making something like a 3/4" x 3/4" square cut it will hang, and then you have let off the pressure of pushing the wood which allows for a kickback, or the wood to come off the fence and totally ruin your cut.

A thin plastic joke
This is basically worthless. It flexes and bends with any pressure.  It needs to be made of rigid phenolic with a melamine top, or something similiar.
