Super easy!
I bought this today after debating it for 2 weeks. I’m a 52 year old female. My old blower broke and my yard was starting to look awful so I decided to try it. This was super easy to put together and use. The blower worked perfect. I had a little trouble taking the part off to connect the vacuum but once I got it there was nothing hard about getting the vacuum up and running. The back pack was a good addition but I found that I could not switch hands because of the hose so my right arm got tired! I’m not sure how I know if the bag is full or not so I might empty it a little too often. In the end I put the bag on the ground and switched arms. Not a big deal. I spent 3 hours on my front lawn and everything worked great. The vacuuming does take a while but it really saves on bags so I feel it’s better for the environment. I read reviews about the bag not staying shut but I watched the video and had absolutely no problem. The only BIG problem I had is emptying the bag. It’s very awkward with the hose and the backpack so any pointers would be appreciated. It takes a lot of work. Overall I am so happy with this product!

Bag attachment to blower needs re-design!!
Purchased January 2018. On about 3rd use, hose blew off bag - was connected with cable ties! Used about 2 dozen times since. Had to re-attach hose to bag at least a dozen times, finally became unfixable. Returned to Lowe's - they gave me a full refund (thanks Lowe's. I suggest attaching the hose to the bag by riveting a fitting similar to the one connecting hose to blower. This would fix problem and probably cost less than $5 more. Vacuum slightly underpowered compared with another brand (begins with "T"). If it weren't for this pathetic hose design, I'd still be using it. Don't recommend it.

Nice blower/vacuum
Very impressed with this blower/vacuum. It replaces one that broke. I really like the bag. The roll-up was easy to use and provides a large opening. And the bag is very large. 2 Bags filled a large garbage can with mulched leaves.

Powerful but unusually loud
The bag option is neat but I wont need it. Good to have though for areas that i want really cleaned up. I am VERY disappointed by this unit's noise level though. My prior unit was as powerful but much quieter.

Why fix it if it's not broken?
I just bought this and used for the first time, however, I owned the previous model and was generally satisfied. I like the addition of the backpack and larger bag, however, B&D made 3 significant design changes which I do NOT consider improvements. 1: switched mulching blades from metal to plastic. When I bought the previous model, the Lowe's rep actually recommended this BECAUSE of the metal parts. 2. Instead of simply popping off the fan cover, you now need a screwdriver or key to unlock it, which takes time and means you have another thing to carry around. 3. Why remove the zipper from the leaf bag? Sure, you made the bag bigger, but now you have to roll up the end to ensure it doesn't let the leaves out, and that takes up leaf space. If the zipper was failing, then improve it. This system isn't better. Please incorporate the old features into your next model.

Great machine
Used it immediately this fall, the bag seals excellently, not sure what the other comments are referring to. My only concern is the noise factor. Thanks

I CAN'T USE THIS PRODUCT :(
They sell a vac/mulcher but say not to use near anything wet. Hey everyone..leaves are wet..this is autumn in the northeast...the ground is damp and the leaves are damp..especially after a rain. Why would anyone invent something to suck up autumn leaves and then warn not to get near anything wet or you can get a shock? This like selling a frying pan and warning not to use it over heat. Duh. WIll have to return it. I hope they don't charge me for return shipping.

Exactly What I Wanted
Last year, as a new homeowner, I Purchased a green works 40 W battery leaf blower. It was great at clearing off the driveway, but worthless on grass. So I bought this model, and it did great. I have a feeling that the motor is going to be the best feature, but the blower worked even better than I expected, with magnificent power. I definitely recommend this.

how do i release the fan cover?
barney r on Oct 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This is the 2nd one of these that I have owned. They work great, but you will need to be careful and keep all of the connections wiped down and cleaned after use otherwise, you might have difficulties in taking it apart. Also, be especially careful if you are doing your yard cleanup in the extreme cold as the plastic can be fragile and might shatter off valuable pieces if you put it down incorrectly. That's the reason that I bought another. As far as releasing the cover to get to the fan area, you need to put down on the large black button while holding the handle firmly. Best probably to do this on a table top so as to prevent it from dropping. One final caution, if you never use this before make sure you have proper eyewear and a filter mask as those fine particles of leaves get everywhere. Good luck. I've owned my 1st one for over 5 years with pretty good success.
Does this come with battery?
