Freeman PF1618GLCN 16 & 18 Gauge 3-in-1 Cleat Flooring Air Nailer

Details
The "Everything" Flooring Nailer!
Freeman has done it again, providing the DIY and pro customer with a solution that takes the guess work out of what flooring nailer to buy. The Freeman PF1618GLCN 18-Gauge Cleat Flooring Air Nailer has been combined with the 16 Gauge L Cleat to make the first all-in-one nailer.
For your more common hardwoods such as 5/8 in. to 3/4 in. oak, maple, hickory tongue and groove flooring the 16 gauge cleat is ideal. If you happen to be installing 3/8 in. to 3/4 in. engineered or solid tongue and groove flooring, including bamboo, stranded bamboo, carbonized bamboo, or exotic hardwoods, the 18 gauge L cleat is your fastener.
The magazine design allows you to load 16 or 18 gauge L-cleats ranging in sizes from 1-1/4 in. to 2 in. in length without making any adjustments or modifications, providing a seamless operation. This nailer uses any brand of 16 or 18 gauge L-cleat, so there is no fear of finding the correct fastener. The driver blade is made of hardened steel with an aluminum cylinder and high-quality rubber O-rings while the body of the nailer is constructed of durable die-cast aluminum to stand up to daily use.
Featuring 3 interchangeable base plates, this nailer provides stability and protects flooring surfaces from scratches. It comes complete with wrenches, oil, and a fiberglass handle rubber mallet.
Features:
  • No-mar design provides increased protection from marring when working on finished flooring surfaces
  • 3-in-1 versatility designed to be used with either 16 gauge 'L' or 'T' Cleats or 18 gauge 'L' Cleats with no adjustments to the tool
  • Height adjustment allows you to precisely line up with your nailing area
  • Fiberglass mallet with rubber head included
  • Lightweight construction of high-strength aluminum and heat treated steel parts
  • Anodized aluminum magazine for long lasting durability
  • 3 interchangeable base plates provide stability and protect flooring surfaces from scratches
  • One-piece drive blade for longer life
  • Added peace of mind with Freeman's 7 year warranty

Disappointing...made in china?
It started jamming with in the first clip of nails. After diagnosing the problem and fashioning a shim to allow the drive pin to retract, we got back to work. Not really sure any quality control is in effect at Freeman, stamping "professional" on the box doesn't make it so.

Haven't used it yet but it arrived in a timely manner and appears to be of good quality. I do like that it takes both gauges of cleats to work with a variety of hardwood species.

Great Nailer
Very pleased with the 16/18 ga nailer. Quality is very good. It takes a little getting use to placing it properly on the tongue, but once you get it no problems. I put in 600 sq ft of 5/8 bamboo flooring and not one misfire. I love the fiberglass mallet as well, it works great . I would recommend this nailer because of the quality and versatility. Freeman is very helpful if you need assistance or information.
