Great Tool
Just bought it and started using it right away. Perfect for small, light jobs. Cuts through 2 x 4's and 3/4" plywood with ease. Another fine PC tool added to my collection.

A good battery operated circular saw
The saw is reasonably powerful, fairly quiet, and OK on battery life. I used it in a project requiring multiple cuts in 3/4" hardwood plyboards. The saw cut cleanly without binding or bogging down. Using a 4 AH battery let the saw run for a reasonable amount of time. Using a 2 AH battery is going to require frequent changes.

The saw is light weight and cordless - handy. This is my go to saw in most situations, because power cords are rarely convenient.
Of course, it doesn't have to power of a plug-in, but I find if I cut more slowly, it does most things a plug in can do, except more slowly.

I researched this saw and found it to be what I needed it for, a light, agile saw, not for the everyday professional. What I didn't pay attention to was the blade is set on the left of the motor. I don't adapt to change well and this has been the biggest problem I have had with it. But for hanging over edges or stretched out from a ladder this has worked well

Extremely Pleased.
I have many of the Porter Cable 20V tools. This was the last piece I purchased and I am extremely pleased with it. Its lightweight and is very easy to control.

Quality peace
Well made, a sturdy saw and worked flawlessly. Saw is a solid quality piece especially at this price. It does eat up battery life a little more than reciprocating saw and/or drill driver. But I feel that is expected.

Why is this thing sold without the possibility of using it?
If I want to actually use this thing what is the cost including battery and charger?

BEST ANSWER: Hi Rich,

The "Tool Only" or "Bare-Tools" are intended for the end-user who already owns the compatible batteries and chargers. Unfortunately, Porter Cable does not offer the option to purchase this saw with those accessories included. Please use the link below to view and purchase those items.

I need step by step instructions on how to install the blade on this saw. Its not listed in the user guide, on line, or on YouTube. The blade guard gets in the way of changing. Please send a description as soon as possible. Thank you-
