Hard Hitting
Useful when fixing flats on the road. Greatly enhances speed when installing a spare tire. Doesn't have the power of a pneumatic impact but it will certainly run the lugs off and on after they are broken loose with a manual lug wrench. Many of the lugs are severely over tightened at tire shops. This impact will loosen most if they are properly torqued.

Makita 18V Cordless Impact wrench is bad to the bone.
This wrench works all day long on 3 AH battery. It fast to remove lugs from trucks and install them also. very strong in removal of big bolts can not understand why NASCAR does not use them instead of dragging those air hoses. It sure would be safer and I think just as fast. Great gun and a real work hourse.

Where has this tool been
Where has this tool been my whole life. I used to deliver the news paper for around 7 years. Probally Had 30 flats, sure could have used this wrench. Battery life is long, changed 5 tires from a boat trailer. The lugs were rusted on and this tool had no problem. No wrist twisting or arm twisting either. Lug nuts spun right off. They also went right back on just as easy. What a time saver.

More powerful than I thought!
I bought this to get me out of a jam at work. On a rehab job where power in building was going to be off all day, I bought this to install a bunch of 5 & 3" Vic pipe. This doesn't drain my batteries quickly either as I expected it would. Used only my two batteries all day. It tackled half a dozen 10" couplings too. Was a great investment especially since CPO knocked 25$ off 100$ of Makita tools for a first time buyer. I thought this was a temp gun till I could go for a fuel or something but I shouldn't need too, on the other hand if you want to work on car stuff go for Milwaukee fuel, it's got double ft lbs or wait for a makita one :) this will do tires easy but crankcase nuts probly not. I named it Goliath.
Last thing, I called Makita because where the battery attached, the gun and battery holder seemed to be seperate and loose. They told me it was a rubber isolater inside to protect battery from impact vibration. Seems like they put a lot of thought into it. Thanks Makita and thanks CPO, I'll buy here again.

Does this work with a 18v 3.0 battery?
Brraaa on Nov 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Not sure which battery you have but I know it works well with the LXT style battery. The differences in the battery rating (3.0) will be reflected in run time.
Does this come in a brushless version? without Brushes like most of their other products?
