Gets the job done
Between my lawn and flower beds, it had never been edged before. I have around 300 feet of sidewalks, flower beds and driveway to edged. This edger may be small but does an awesome job. Never had any problems. Would highly recommend this for any home owner.

Blade switched to reverse 'mode'
Have had the TB516 EC for a couple years and have the blade replaced annually. Recently, tho, as I was using it the blade decided to switch directions from the normal rendering it unusable. Would like to stay w/ this model but no one knows why it happened and how to resolve this problem.

This Is The One
I've had several different brands of lawn edgers...all of them were 2-cycle. So, two years ago we bought this great little 4-cycle lawn edger and what a difference. Rugged, well-built, and most importantly DEPENDABLE. Always starts, short warm-up time and just the right amount of power.

a lemon from the very beginning
The edger never ran right from the very beginning. I took the machine back under warranty and they said the carberator was bad and not covered because it was fuel related. I bought a new carberator and changed gas to 90 octane and the machine still doesn't run. I'm 68 years old and I never experienced any problems like this with any small gas engine . I can't believe you don't stand by your warranty.

Thr best gas edger available
I bought this edger to go along with the other 4 cycle equipment I use. I have used a lawn mower, trimmer and blower for over 4 years and that all work as well today as the day I first used them.

What type of oil is used for this edger?
Papa George on Aug 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Small engine oil can be purchased at any hardware store or big box,.Lowes or Home Depot.
I purchased the edger from Lowes. The first one choked out as soon as I powered up the blade, even though it was not in the ground. Lowes replaced it. The second one ran fine until I started edging with it. After about 5 minutes, it started doing the same thing. The gas is fresh and was just purchased last week, have been running other lawn equipment on the same gas. Any ideas?
Bob on Jun 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: you are not mixing oil with the gas are you. This is a 4 cycle engine
which runs on gas only. Just a thought since you said you were using
the same gas you use on your other lawn equipment.

BEST ANSWER: For assistance with replacement parts, please contact Troy Bilt directly at 800-269-6215
The edger ran so good for a long time. Lately it's problem after problem. Recently the edger has been stalling while I'm cutting,so I took the blade off and checked the belt which is fine, the shaft is working well.
There even times when it seems to have no power. Could it be over heating, carb: is shot or something else.
